再現性が認められなかったと言う報告が続出している

近年物語を読むことで他者の思考や信念、欲求、意図などを推測する能力である「心
の理論」が向上することが報告され、学問的、実践的な注目を集めた (Kidd & Castano, 2013; Mar et al., 2006, 2009)。
しかし「物語読書と社会的能力との関連」に対して，その効果が見られないとする研究が複数報告されている (Panero et al., 2016, 2017; Samur et al.2017)

浜松学院大学でも大学生百数十人集めて調べても再現性なし

Does reading a single passage of literary fiction really improve theory of mind? An attempt at replication.

We thus reaffirm that our replication of Kidd and Castano (2013) found no evidence that literary fiction uniquely and immediately improves theory of mind.
Our objective remains not to prove that reading literary fiction does not benefit social cognition, but to call for in-depth research addressing the difficulties in measuring any potential effect and to note the need to temper claims accordingly.
