Some conceptual bullet points that seem to be emerging:

* Variable Cycle Engines (already done by GE on YF120 for YF-22 and YF-23 2 decades ago, re-emerging as ACE)
* High cruising speed ability, but without SFC inefficiency of the F119/F-22 airframe
* Streamlined production VLO coatings and sub surface/panel approach a la F-35
* F-35 type cockpit and HMD
* AIRST
* Interceptor/AWACS/EW Focus
* FL600 or higher service ceiling for perch advantage/parity with J-20
* Tech transfer of AESA and engines to Japan
* Large portion of manufacturing in Japan
