Right now the US military is an organization without an articulable purpose or ideology. Its most significant operations in recent years have involved delivering mountains of its own war materiel free of charge to bloodthirsty ethno- and sectarian-nationalists overseas. To the extent it has an organizational ideology, it is the careerism and Deep State neoliberalism of the senior leadership - the kind of stuff which, if set out plainly, would strongly discourage recruitment. Unable to even articulate an argument about what higher purpose service actually serves, recruiters are left having to rather pathetically sell low pay and benefits that 18 year-olds rarely think much about.

The Russian military is defending the Motherland from Nazis.

One of these armies is growing despite a very bloody war, the other is shrinking despite being at peace. Perhaps there's a lesson in here for us.

違う。米国供与のTOWを水上目標 (上陸用舟艇を想定)に使った。
動画へのコメントではTOW操作のベテラン氏(100発以上を実射)が、電線が水面に触れると信号が異常になるとのこと。改良された1983年以降生産のTOW2を使え(or 最新のTOW2 ワイヤレスかも)、らしい。
陸自はTOWを保有していたにもかかわらず「対舟艇誘導弾」を長年にわたり独自開発し装備しているのは(79式対舟艇、96式、2009年以降の中多)、TOWが海面目標を苦手とすることを大昔から知っていたためかもしれない
