Stream of consciousness is a narrative device used in literature "to depict the multitudinous thoughts and feelings which pass through the mind. Another phrase for it is 'interior monologue'. "[1] The term "Stream of Consciousness" was coined by philosopher and psychologist William James in The Principles of Psychology (1890):
consciousness, then, does not appear to itself as chopped up in bits ... it is nothing joined; it flows. A 'river' or a 'stream' are the metaphors by which it is most naturally described. in talking of it hereafter, lets call it the stream of thought, consciousness, or subjective life.[2]

Another phrase for it is 'interior monologue'. 意識の流れは心を通過する非常に多くの考えや 感情を表現するために文学において使われる物語の手法である。 またそれを"内的独白"と言う。 The term "Stream of Consciousness" was coined by philosopher and psychologist William James in The Principles of Psychology (1890): 意識の流れと言う用語は”The Principles of Psychology(1890)"において 心理学者ウィリアムジェイムズによって提唱された。 consciousness, then, does not appear to itself as chopped up in bits ... it is nothing joined; it flows. 意識は、こまごまと切られたものとして現れるのではなく、 it is nothing joined(ここわからん!)それは流れている。 A 'river' or a 'stream' are the metaphors by which it is most naturally described. "川"や"流れ"は最も自然に描写された隠喩である。 in talking of it hereafter, lets call it the stream of thought, consciousness, or subjective life.[2] ↑上の文は全くわからんかった!w
稚拙な訳だけどとりあえずmindの心ってのは具体的に何を意味してんのかわからんwww(思考や感情と何が違うんだろw) 0027吾輩は名無しである2012/12/27(木) 06:05:48.41>>26 consciousness, then, does not appear to itself as chopped up in bits ... it is nothing joined; it flows. 上記の三行は、William James 自身の言葉だね。直訳するとわかりにくいので、意訳せざるを得ないけど。
