VRから AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VRII への展開で
かなり性能が上がっているのだけど？
その後のAF-Pは微妙な推移らしい。

18-55mmVRIIの55mmでのMTFはほぼ完璧で、
ライカの96万1200円(2015年3月5日から)のアポ・ズミクロンM 50mmF2 ASPH よりええで、とあるがや。
2016年5月10日からは99万3600円になってる。最近また上がったけどこれは除外っぽい。
